On August 30, 2026, the Japan-India Joint Art Exhibition “Threaded Layers” was held at the Hiroshima City International House.

 

The exhibition was organized by the Indo-Hiroshima Dokoukai and Naga Rama Trust, with the support of the Consulate-General of India in Osaka/Kobe, Hiroshima Prefecture, and the City of Hiroshima. The Japan-India Association of Hiroshima also supported the event as a sponsor.

 

The exhibition featured works by Hiroko Takayama, an artist and Vice President of our association, and Indian artist Venkat Gaddam. The two artists also gave a collaborative live painting performance. In addition, a fashion show showcasing garments designed by Mr. Gaddam was held, offering visitors an opportunity to experience art from a variety of perspectives and attracting considerable interest.

 

Visitors commented that the exhibition provided an opportunity to experience firsthand the power of culture and art in fostering international exchange through viewing the artworks and interacting with the artists.

 

The Japan-India Association of Hiroshima will continue to support activities that serve as a bridge between Hiroshima and India and contribute to the further development of friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries.
